DoorDash to deploy sidewalk robots with Serve Robotics in US

DoorDash has signed a multi-year deal with Serve Robotics to test sidewalk delivery robots in Los Angeles, expanding its robotic delivery plans across the US.

Serve Robotics develops autonomous robots that deliver goods along sidewalks, and already partners with Uber.

The agreement follows DoorDash’s launch of its own delivery robot, Dot, which operates on roads, bike lanes, and sidewalks at speeds of up to 20 miles per hour.

By working with multiple robotics providers, DoorDash joins a growing trend among delivery and ride-hailing companies investing in automation.

After reporting record profits in early 2025, DoorDash said it will use both robots and human workers, with people handling more complex orders.
