Digital Edge secures $575m for Asia data center push

Singapore-based data center operator Digital Edge said on May 22 it closed its first US$575 million holding company loan to expand across Asia Pacific.

The company said demand is rising for hyperscale and AI-ready facilities.

The company said it will use the money in South Korea, Japan, India, and Southeast Asia, and Digital Edge is backed by US investor Stonepeak.

Clifford Capital, Deutsche Bank, MUFG, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp, and Standard Chartered led the financing with BNP Paribas and Stonepeak Credit.

The loan can be converted into a sustainability-linked facility if the parties agree on targets.
