DBS tops $155b market value for first time
DBS Group closed on July 13 with a market value above S$200 billion (US$154.8 billion) for the first time.
The milestone marks a first for both DBS and Singapore’s stock market. A recent comparison valued OCBC, the next-largest Singapore bank by market value, at S$90.84 billion (US$70.3 billion).
Analysts said the sector’s rerating was driven by resilient earnings, strong capital adequacy, growth in wealth and other non-interest income, and demand for Singapore-dollar assets and dividend yield as interest rates fall.
DBS has also committed a 15-cent quarterly capital-return dividend through financial year 2027.
