Databricks broadens AI push with Panther deal
Databricks, a San-Fransisco-based data and AI software company, said on June 16 that it unveiled four new products at its Data + AI Summit 2026.
The company also agreed to acquire Panther, expanding its presence in enterprise AI, real-time data, customer data, and security.
The new products include Genie One for business task automation and orchestration, and Lakehouse//RT for real-time analysis of streaming data.
Databricks also introduced Lakeflow Transactional and Analytical Processing, which combines transactional and analytical workloads in a single platform.
The company also launched CustomerLake, an agentic customer data platform for identity resolution, audience building, campaign automation, activation, and personalization.
CustomerLake moves Databricks beyond core data infrastructure into customer data and marketing software.
Panther, a cloud-native security company, would add threat monitoring, detection, and response.
Panther said it is an AI security operations center platform. Panther was last valued at US$1.4 billion in 2021.
Databricks said it serves more than 20,000 organizations worldwide and was valued at US$134 billion.
