CreateAI, formerly known as TuSimple, is closing its Guangzhou office and laying off about 100 employees as it prepares for dissolution and liquidation.

Employees were informed of the layoffs via email on Feb. 17.

This decision follows CreateAI’s shift from developing self-driving technology to focusing on video games and films in December 2024, amid internal disputes among its co-founders.

Employees have not received their January salaries, which were due on Feb. 10.

Employees have been offered compensation equivalent to less than a month’s salary, contingent upon signing departure agreements.
