Chipmaker Onsemi halts $6.9b bid to acquire Allegro MicroSystems

Onsemi has withdrawn its bid to acquire Allegro MicroSystems, which was priced at US$35.10 per share.

The company announced this decision on April 14, 2025, citing a lack of a feasible path forward for the deal.

The proposed acquisition, revealed in March 2025, valued Allegro at US$6.9 billion, including debt.

This followed a previous offer of US$34.50 per share made in September 2024.

Following the announcement, Allegro’s stock fell by over 6%, reaching US$20.58 in after-hours trading.
