Chinese automaker Deepal leads EV sales in Israel

Chinese automaker Deepal Automobile Technology, a unit of Changan Automobile, led electric vehicle sales in Israel in January, according to industry data.

Deepal sold 636 EVs in its first full month after entering the Israeli market in December 2024, with models including the S05 and S07 crossovers.

China’s BYD Auto ranked second with 563 vehicles sold across eight models, while XPeng sold 506 cars from three models.

Chinese-made EVs accounted for around 85% of all EVs sold in Israel during January, with 3,394 of the 3,972 total EVs sold being produced in China.

In the broader automotive market, including gasoline and hybrid vehicles, Chinese brands also led sales with 15,438 units sold, followed by South Korean brands with 8,521 and Japanese automakers with 4,675 vehicles.
