Beijing-based Neolix, which makes autonomous delivery vehicles, won approval from Malaysia’s Ministry of Transport to begin public-road sandbox trials in Cyberjaya under the country’s National Regulatory Sandbox.

Testing is expected to start in the coming weeks. The pilot, run with Tiong Nam Logistics, Asia Mobiliti, and MindHub, will test parcel delivery, campus logistics, and ecommerce fulfilment across closed-road, semi-open, and public-road environments.

The routes will include traffic signals, intersections, and speed bumps.

Malaysia’s sandbox framework is designed to test regulatory requirements for new technologies and has already issued guidelines for autonomous-vehicle public-road trials.

The trial also comes as Malaysia opened consultation on a proposed national autonomous-vehicle road map to shape safety standards, infrastructure plans, and regulatory milestones for wider deployment.

Neolix said its autonomous delivery systems have been deployed across more than 300 cities in over 15 countries and regions.

The company also said it has a Singapore urban logistics pilot alongside its Abu Dhabi operations.
