China Mobile launches AI-eSIM industry committee

China Mobile, a state-owned Chinese telecommunications company, launched an AI-eSIM industry committee to help coordinate the development of AI-enabled embedded subscriber identity modules (eSIMs) for Internet of Things (IoT) applications.

The AI-eSIM Professional Committee of the China Association of Communications Enterprises was established during the China Information and Communication Industry Development High-Level Forum.

China Mobile Internet of Things Co. will serve as the committee chair, while Tianyi IoT, Unicom Vsens, Volcano Engine, Tencent Cloud, and Guanan Information will serve as vice chairs.

The committee brings together more than 40 companies spanning telecommunications, chip design, AI algorithms, cybersecurity, and AI model development.

It held its first members’ meeting and an industry development seminar on July 4.
