CATL, a global EV battery manufacturer, plans to build 1,000 battery swap stations in 2025 across mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macao.

The company aims to establish a total 10,000 stations in collaboration with partners.

Battery swapping allows EV drivers to exchange depleted batteries for fully charged ones in about 100 seconds at stations called Evogo.

The initial focus will be on fleet vehicles, such as taxis and trucks, before expanding to individual car owners.
