BYD Korea has announced that it will not market vehicles equipped with DeepSeek’s AI software in South Korea, addressing concerns about data security.

DeepSeek, a Chinese AI firm, faces restrictions in South Korea due to worries about potential data leaks to China.

While BYD has collaborated with DeepSeek for AI-integrated vehicles, these models are only for the Chinese market.

A BYD Korea spokesperson confirmed the company will comply with South Korean regulations and has no plans to sell AI-integrated vehicles in the country.

They assured that any personal data collected in South Korea would remain secure and not be transferred to China.

BYD Korea recently entered the market and has seen success with its Atto 3 electric SUV, which does not use DeepSeek’s software.
