Bessemer backs Indian cyber startup Mitigata
Mitigata, a Bengaluru-based cybersecurity startup, has raised US$15 million in a round led by Bessemer Venture Partners, with participation from existing investors Nexus Venture Partners, Titan Capital, and WEH Ventures.
The company said it will use the funds to hire about 100 people, expand research and development, and enter overseas markets including the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
Mitigata said it combines cybersecurity, compliance, and insurance in one platform.
Its services include 24/7 threat detection, compliance readiness, cyber insurance underwriting support, and claims advocacy.
The startup also said it serves more than 800 businesses in India as an Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India-licensed broker and managed security operator.
Its expansion comes as India’s Digital Personal Data Protection framework requires safeguards and increases the importance of breach response and Computer Emergency Response Team-India reporting.
According to Tracxn, Mitigata had previously raised nearly US$7 million. The startup employs about 130 people and has offices in Delhi and Mumbai.
