AWS, German electronics firm partner on autonomous vehicles
Aumovio, a Germany-based technology and electronics company, has signed an agreement with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to accelerate the development of autonomous vehicles.
Under the deal, AWS will serve as Aumovio’s preferred cloud provider for its self-driving vehicle projects, using AI and cloud technology to process large volumes of driving data and speed up validation and testing.
As part of the collaboration, Aumovio is working with US-based autonomous freight company Aurora to co-develop and manufacture a new generation of driverless trucks.
Production is expected to begin in 2027, with Aumovio supplying a backup computer system, while AWS handles data processing for safety validation and real-world deployment.
