AWS launches $5b cloud infrastructure region in Thailand

Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced the launch of the AWS Asia Pacific (Thailand) Region, aimed at providing local businesses, startups, and public sector organizations with enhanced cloud computing capabilities, backed by an investment of over US$5 billion.

The new region will consist of three availability zones to promote business continuity and low-latency connections.

It is expected to contribute approximately US$10 billion to Thailand’s GDP and create over 11,000 full-time equivalent jobs annually in various sectors

This launch aligns with AWS’s strategy to expand its global infrastructure, which currently includes 35 regions and plans for additional zones and regions.

Notable Thai businesses using AWS services include CP Group and Bank of Ayudhya.
