Sydney-based insurtech Cover Genius, which provides embedded insurance products, had partnered with Traveloka to offer travel protection across Traveloka’s Asia-Pacific platforms.

The partnership includes travel protection in several markets and Cancellation Protection in Australia.

In Australia, Traveloka users can access Cancellation Protection during checkout.

The companies said the product can refund part or all of a trip if a traveler cancels due to illness, transport disruptions, adverse weather, theft of travel documents, home emergencies, or redundancy.

Traveloka said the protection would be integrated into its booking flow, while Cover Genius described the deal as a multi-market rollout supporting Traveloka’s expansion, including its recent entry into Australia.

Cover Genius said it is licensed or authorized in more than 60 countries, and that its XCover platform serves travel companies, airlines, and online travel agencies.
