Sales of foreign-branded smartphones in China, including Apple’s iPhone, fell by 44.25% in October compared to the previous year.

This data is according to the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT).

The total number of foreign smartphone units sold dropped to 6.22 million from 11.15 million the previous year.

Conversely, overall smartphone sales in China grew by 1.8% year-on-year in October, reaching 29.67 million units, according to CAICT.
