Apple’s iPhone 16 approved for sale in Indonesia
Apple’s iPhone 16 lineup has been approved for sale in Indonesia. The Ministry of Communication and Digital (Komdigi) and the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) issued the necessary certifications on Mar. 14.
The approved models include the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max, and iPhone 16e. All devices will be imported from China.
The iPhone 16 series also received Domestic Component Level (TKDN) certification from Kemenperin on Mar. 7 fulfilling a key regulatory requirement.
As part of the approval, Apple has committed to investing in Indonesia by establishing a local software research center.
This agreement with the Ministry of Industry is part of an innovation investment scheme for 2025–2028.
