Apple sees modest growth amid iPhone sales decline
Apple projected modest sales growth for the current fiscal quarter despite a decline in iPhone sales and challenges in the Chinese market, the company announced on Jan. 30.
In its fiscal first quarter, Apple reported US$124.3 billion in Q1 revenue, slightly surpassing estimates despite weaker iPhone sales.
IPhone revenue dropped to US$69.14 billion due to competition and slow AI feature rollout, especially in China.
However, sales of Mac and iPad exceeded expectations, reaching US$8.99 billion and US$8.09 billion, respectively, helping offset iPhone declines.
Apple’s services segment grew 13.9% to US$26.34 billion, exceeding forecasts and bolstering overall performance.
CEO Tim Cook said AI features are boosting sales where available but remain delayed in key markets like China.
