Apple removes EU apps missing trader info under digital law
Apple revised its App Store policies on Feb. 18, removing noncompliant apps in the EU to meet Digital Services Act (DSA) rules.
The DSA mandates app developers disclose trader details, affecting apps that generate revenue through various business models.
According to app intelligence provider Appfigures, 135,000 apps became inactive in 30 hours. Small developers struggling due to privacy and compliance issues.
Trader information now appears beneath app details in the EU App Store, alongside age ratings and language options.
Removed apps must submit verified trader details to Apple before reinstatement, impacting independent developers the most.
