Antler joins $3.5m seed round in Singapore’s Rolo Robotics

Rolo Robotics, a Singapore-founded robotics company, has raised US$3.45 million in a seed funding round backed by investors including A2D Ventures, BEENEXT, Seedstars, TIS Japan, Antler, Lotus One Investment, and Blueprint Ventures.

Rolo said the new funding will be used to scale production, deepen its technology stack, and expand the engineering and operations team to accelerate deployments across other Asia-Pacific markets.

The company builds autonomous food kiosks that prepare hot, made-to-order meals without on-site staff, targeting high-traffic locations such as campuses, offices, and transit hubs.

Rolo Robotics has secured pilot projects with operators in sectors like universities, hospitals, and transport hubs, with plans to start pilot sites in Australia in Q1 2026.

The company aims to deploy 20 to 30 autonomous micro-kitchens in Singapore by 2026, and its kiosks are fully integrated with food delivery apps.

🧠 Food for thought

Implications, context, and why it matters.

Third-party equipment lessors (equipment leasing companies) can capitalize on autonomous food kiosk rollout demand

  • Faster deployment of autonomous food kiosks is sparking demand for third-party equipment leasing and financing. These products cut upfront CapEx for facility operators and foodservice providers rolling out units at campuses, hospitals, plus transport hubs.
  • Large upfront capital needs slow vending adoption in Asia-Pacific 3. Fintechs (financial technology companies) and lenders can offer tailored leases.
  • Southeast Asia leads smart vending uptake thanks to early smartphone payments and rising labor costs that push unmanned sales 4. That trend supports strong demand for financing solutions.
  • A map of APAC lessors with vending plus foodservice experience, with typical terms, can guide partnership deals. Banks can back Rolo’s push into Australia in Q1 2026 and other Asia-Pacific markets 2.
