Antler backs $1.8m round in Indonesian travel startup Spun
SPUN, a Jakarta-based travel tech startup focusing on visa infrastructure, has raised US$1.8 million in seed funding to expand into Southeast Asia.
The round was led by Genesia Ventures, with participation from Antler, Spiral Ventures, Iterative, Kopital Ventures, and angel investor Kum Hong Siew.
The funding will support regional expansion, automation, and deeper platform integrations, addressing visa process fragmentation in Southeast Asia.
Founded by Christa Sabathaly and Dilla Anindita, SPUN uses AI agents to streamline visa applications for both individuals and businesses across more than 90 countries and over 300 visa types.
In its first year, SPUN processed thousands of visa applications with a 99% approval rate, serving more than 200 travel agencies and partners, and integrating with platforms like Klook and Traveloka.
As cross-border travel resumes, visa complexity remains a significant challenge, especially for Indonesian travelers, with more than 20 million passengers annually.
