Anthropic, Tenable add Claude to cybersecurity platform

Tenable, a US-listed cybersecurity firm, said on May 21, 2026, it has made its Hexa AI engine generally available and is working with Anthropic to add Claude-powered workflows to its Tenable One platform.

The move comes as companies seek faster ways to prioritize and remediate cyber exposures.

The company said Hexa AI can handle multi-step reasoning, automate remediation tasks such as ticket creation and policy generation, and support custom agents through Model Context Protocol.

Tenable said the tool is available to Tenable One Foundation and Advanced customers, and Anthropic will join the company’s Exposure 2026 event in Boston.

🧠 Food for thought

Implications, context, and why it matters.

Hexa AI sits at the center of Tenable’s 2026 revenue plan

  • Tenable is responding to a surge in AI-driven vulnerabilities that manual security teams struggle to handle 1.
  • With Hexa AI, the company wants to move from a passive “system of record” for risk to an automated “system of action” that fixes threats 1.
  • Hexa will sit inside a new “Advanced” tier meant to spur upgrades. Tenable has discussed platform migration price increases of 6% to 60% 1.
  • The approach ties to Tenable’s full-year 2026 revenue forecast of US$1.068 billion to US$1.078 billion 2.

AI labs and software companies are building tighter ties

  • The Tenable-Anthropic agreement fits a wider pattern. Anthropic has also partnered with IBM plus Databricks, a data and AI software company 34.
  • In these deals, AI models serve as the reasoning engine, while software partners adapt them for cybersecurity, software development, or data analytics 1.
  • IBM is adding Claude to select IBM products, starting with an AI-first integrated development environment (IDE), a tool software developers use to write and test code 3. Databricks offers Anthropic models and services through the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform. That helps customers build AI agents over enterprise data 4.
  • This model is speeding up “agentic” software that automates full workflows. Support for Model Context Protocol (MCP), a way for AI systems to connect with outside tools and data sources, also helps create a more open ecosystem 5.
