Anthropic prepares for US IPO as early as October

Anthropic is preparing for a potential US initial public offering, with banks arranging investor meetings in the coming weeks ahead of a possible launch as early as October, people familiar with the matter said.

The people said Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs Group, and JP Morgan Chase were underwriting the deal.

They also said Anthropic and OpenAI had both submitted listing materials to the US Securities and Exchange Commission.

Anthropic was most recently privately valued at $965 billion and includes Amazon, Google, Microsoft, and Nvidia among its backers.

OpenAI, meanwhile, has reportedly delayed its initial public offering until 2027 after earlier targeting this autumn, meaning Anthropic could reach the public market first if its plans hold.

The size and timing of Anthropic’s deal could still change.
