Alibaba Cloud unveiled new AI models and upgraded infrastructure at its annual developer summit on Jan. 21.

Key offerings include the Qwen2.5 series of proprietary large language models, ranging from 7 billion to 72 billion parameters, accessible via Model Studio’s API.

It also features multimodal AI models like Qwen-VL for vision understanding and Qwen-Audio for audio processing.

To support developers, Alibaba Cloud released tools such as Tongyi Lingma, a coding assistant powered by Qwen 2.5, and Workflow, an AI task management tool.

The company also announced the GenAI Empowerment Program, offering support for developers.

Alibaba said, these developments are intended to reduce AI development costs and foster global collaboration.
