The AI agent platform previously known as AI16z has rebranded to ElizaOS due to concerns about its name’s similarity to the venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz, commonly referred to as a16z.

Shaw Walters, the platform’s founder, announced the name change on social media, citing trademark issues and the need for a more professional identity.

Despite the rebrand, ElizaOS’s cryptocurrency token will continue to use the ai16z ticker for now.

Future changes to the ticker symbol will be decided by a community vote through a new Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) module.
