Starting today, Java Festival Production held the biggest soul music event in Indonesia, Java Soulnation 2012. This festival will last for three days, from September 28th to 30th. Soulnation 2012 will bring soul, hip hop, R&B, and rap beats from worldwide caliber musicians like James Morrison, Robin Thicke, Color Me Badd, and US’s electric disco band Scissor Sisters. There are also local performers too. To accompany you on your night out, application developer 7Langit is back with the Java Soulnation app, 2012 edition (Yes, they were the folks behind the 2011 edition).
This paperless concert guide keep you from getting lost in this big concert venue by providing a map and directions. Just like a typical concert guide app, you can find general information about Soulnation 2012. You can learn more about the performers by reading their bio in the artist menu, and see the schedule for the event.
Sometimes when you’re in a festival, you can lose track of time. But with this app you won’t miss your favorite musician thanks to its reminders feature. You can save the schedule of your favorite artist to your mobile’s calendar and get alerted when the time comes. There are also prizes from the event’s main sponsor. All you have to do is check out the Special Quiz menu. You can also join the Twitter quiz by directly replying or retweeting @Javasoulnation from within the app.
You can even sing and record songs through this app. There are Pledge and Record features from “Soul of the Nation” section. This feature asks users to join a patriotic movement to pledge their love for Indonesia. All you have to do is sing along to Indonesia’s national anthem with young Indonesian singer, Raisa Andriana. By doing this, it is expected that the initiative could be the biggest sing along in the world. This campaign has been ongoing this month, and participants have recorded their videos and uploaded them to YouTube. The uploaded videos will be aired on September 30th, 2012 at the Indosat stage at the Java Soulnation Festival 2012.
So far the app supports BlackBerry and Android. As for iPhone users, the link will be updated soon. Meanwhile, practice your singing skill with Raisa here:
