Are Entrepreneurs Happy?

JA Captsone - Enterprise VillageLet’s face it. Many of us want to be entrepreneurs but lack the guts to do so. It isn’t for the soft hearts.

However, for those who go against the odds and succeed are usually happier. At least when compared to people who slogged their entire life, hoping to reach the pinnacle of the corporate ladder.

According to results gathered from TD Small Business Happiness Index Survey, 97% of the small business owners surveyed are happy because entrepreneurship provides them with a sense of accomplishment and pride. That’s what we normally hear from friends who’re entrepreneurs, isn’t it?

Personally, the spirit of entrepreneurship goes beyond the desire to be financially successful. It’s about driving a business with your own philosophy and shaping the world with your product.

It’s an ideal vision. But frankly speaking, not many of us are able to reach that level. It doesn’t matter as long as we tried.

Is this failure? Yes and no. It depends on how you see it. Many of us will probably end up successful but never satisfied. No matter how small the impact is, I’m sure we are secretly proud of what we have achieved. It’s just the mentality of a typical entrepreneur.

In short, we’re happy but never satisfied. There are always rooms for improvement. It’s this relentless pursuit of excellence that made us successful and happy. But at the same time, it puts us through sorrows and disappointment. Summing up, I believe that entrepreneurs are generally happier. Fellow entrepreneurs, do you agree?

Definitely agree! Happy, but never satisfied. A entrepreneur never settles down, it is always renewing, always searching new grounds. If he does, then is just a matter of time for he to fail. Yet, one must be strong, as there is no one backing him up. A entrepreneur is a leader of himself, then, if he is successful at that, a leader for others too.

Happiest I have ever been! Working now on… 3 new ventures… Ohh la la!

Hi Penn, I'm a very happy entrepreneur. Recently I received a good offer to work at a company I love. But the freedom and proud of my own achievements made me decide to keep my own company. Cheers, .Tif
