Japan’s DeNA Continues Global Push, Establishes Korean Subsidiary

dena-koreaJapanese social gaming company DeNA announced today that its new South Korean subsidiary has officially begun operations.

According to the announcement, the new Seoul group will be led by president and CEO Makato Haruta. A company representative tells Penn Olson a little more about the move:

For the moment DeNA Seoul Co., Ltd. will be a B2B contact point between DeNA and Korean companies, although DeNA will closely monitor the market trends to see if there are more opportunities there.

This move adds to the company’s other overseas operations in the U.S., China, and the Netherlands. When we attended the Global Mobile Internet Conference back in April, Isao Moriyasu spoke of the company’s global aspirations, including its operations in China which he said would go into full swing in July.

DeNA tells us today that the full launch of Mobage in China is still on schedule for next month with a native app for smartphones, in addition to the browser-based Chinese Mobage currently available.
