To call this ‘buyer’s remorse’ would be putting it perhaps a little too lightly. But one 17-year-old student in China says that he now regrets selling his kidney so that he could buy an iPad 2. According to Shanghai Daily citing a Global Times report, the boy from Anhui province found funding for his iPad 2 over the internet:

“I wanted to buy an iPad 2 but could not afford it… A broker contacted me on the Internet and said he could help me sell one kidney for 20,000 yuan.”

The boy then traveled to Chenzhou No. 198 Hospital in Chenzhou City in neighboring Hunan Province to have the procedure done, and was paid 22,00 yuan upon completion. Needless to say his mother was not pleased when she found out upon his return. Police were contacted, but the afore-mentioned broker could not be reached.

We tracked down a few Chinese news clips about this unfortunate incident, which you can check out below.
